Grant Proposal Development

In the highly competitive world of academic research grants and industry funding, Blythe works with research investigators to compose successful proposals. She helps investigators navigate the unpredictable and inconstant world of federal funding. Blythe ‘s support is focused on crafting proposals that meet the solicitation requirements, reviewers’ expectations and to submit the most effective, highest quality writing, which gives principal investigators a competitive edge in the grant application and review process. Blythe takes on ~100 projects per year of all scopes and sizes with a 90+% rate of success.

Blythe offers the following services:

  • Identifies and distributes strategic funding opportunities.
  • Advises on federal budget and congressional appropriations for funding agencies.
  • Conducts brainstorming and concept development meetings with investigators and collaborative teams.
  • Composes and edits white papers for dissemination to and feedback from agency program directors.
  • Confers with research administrators to ensure seamless support in the pre-award process.
  • Builds and maintains ongoing relationships with funding agency program directors.
  • Provides investigators with resources, tools and templates, especially those for supplemental documents.
  • Plans and facilitates the logistics for events (workshops, talks, retreats, etc.) to support best practices in proposal and portfolio development.
  • Gives expert presentations and training sessions for prospective applicants.
  • Coordinates collaborators, multi-institutional teams, cross-disciplinary and industry partners.
  • Performs comprehensive, deep, iterative editing prior to submission.  

From concept development to proposal planning to final polishing, Blythe works closely with PIs to craft precise, complete and compelling technical narratives.
